Michael Beckman, a beloved father, grandfather, and distinguished attorney, passed away on January 29, 2026, in Westchester, NY, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Born on October 8, 1945, in New York, NY, Michael filled the lives of those around him with warmth and joy.
A person of remarkable intellect and charm, Michael earned his BBA from Baruch College of the City of New York and graduated from St. John's University School of Law and New York University School of Law earning his JD; LLN cum laude, where he was President of The National Honor Society, Beta Alpha Psi and Dean’s List, as well as, Editor-in-Chief of the Accounting Forum. He went on to share his knowledge with students as an Adjunct Professor at New York University and practiced law until 2021. Michael’s contributions extended beyond his practice, also dedicating time to championing access to sports and arts for underprivileged and at-risk children with the Sports and Arts in Schools Foundation and The New York Junior Tennis League.
Michael's passion for life was evident in his love for family, friends, and the many interests he pursued. He was an avid tennis player and golfer and a member of East Hampton Tennis Club and Gardners Country Club. Many will remember Michael’s affable personality, ability to connect with others, and his deep appreciation for reading reflecting his inquisitive nature and endless thirst for knowledge, as well as his love for music.
Michael is survived by his beloved sons Andrew and Jason Beckman, along with their wives Hillary and Fabiola. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Zachary, Zoe, Julien, Felix, and Paloma, whose lives were enriched by his joie de vivre.
He was preceded in death by his father, Al Beckman, his mother, Ceil Bronson Beckman, and his sister, Marcia Beckman Golden.
The memories of Michael are forever etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Whether its laughter shared as he barbequed on warm summer nights, spirited tennis games, or sitting by his side while he strummed his guitar with a smile and a whistle, Michael’s memory will be a blessing to those he left behind.
A funeral will be held at Cedar Park Cemetery in Paramus, NJ, on February 1, 2026, beginning at 10:45 AM for family only followed by Shiva starting at 2pm. Please txt 917-447-6555 for address. He will be profoundly missed but vividly remembered in the hearts of all who loved him.
