Avron Alan Steir

Avron Alan Steir, 94, of Springfield, NJ and Delray Beach, FL, passed away peacefully, still sharp, without pain and in his home on February 11, 2026.

Born on April 11, 1931, Alan graduated from Rutgers College of Pharmacy and went on to become the pharmacist and owner of Town Pharmacy in Garwood, NJ for 30 years, ending in 1994. His commitment to the well-being of his customers as "Doc" made him an integral part of the Garwood community, where he is still fondly remembered. Alan’s willingness to help his family, friends and customers left a lasting impact on many, and he will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege to know him.

Alan honorably served as a medic in France during the time of the Korean War.

Alan leaves behind a loving family, including his son, Robert; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Orin; brother, Myron; and his cherished granddaughters, Jenna and Samantha.

Alan was preceded in death by their beloved wife and soulmate for 59 years, Enid Steir; sister, Anne; and parents, Ella and Irving.

A graveside service was held on February 15, 2026, at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey.

The world lost one of the very best ones! He will be greatly missed.
