Arthur R Musicant

Arthur Robert Musicant of Monroe, NJ passed away on June 5, 2026, at the age of 89. He was predeceased by his parents, David and Edna; and his beloved wife, Elizabeth. He is survived by his brother, Alan and his wife Susan; his sons, Marc and Jonathan; his daughters-in-law, Cindy and Marlene; and his grandchildren, Nicole, Andrew, Lacey, Rachel, Josh, and Ramona.

A private service will be held at Cedar Park Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8th for the family.

Many knew Arthur as a co-owner of Gutterman and Musicant Funeral Home in Hackensack, where he helped countless families navigate the loss of their loved ones. Others knew him as Artie, the man with the big smile and friendly face who would stop to talk and laugh with you on his way to the beach in Aruba.

Elizabeth met him when she was 13 years old and loved him for a lifetime, waiting nearly 12 years before they would be together again. For her, and his family, he would spend many years getting up at dawn while on vacation in Aruba to claim her favorite tiki hut that would be the base for so much laughter, lizard watching, ice cream messes, and the best naps. However, his favorite people called him Dad and Grandpa. The special bond he shared with his sons and grandchildren helped shape the Musicant family into who they are today.

From shuttling Nicole and Andrew to and from summer camp, to sleepovers that included ice cream shared with the cat, annual photos on the swing in Aruba, to trips to Dorney Park to ride The Scrambler and visits to Van Saun County Park to feed the ducks, he cherished every opportunity to spend time with his family. These were the stories he loved sharing with those who helped care for him during the last few years of his life.

To those angels, thank you.

His ability to remain grateful, happy, and full of love touched everyone around him. His family is deeply proud of the man who worked hard, provided endless hugs and I love you's, and enriched their lives in countless ways. They will miss him every day.

Knowing he is once again dancing with Liz, watching his soaps, returning to Aruba, and perhaps joining a new bowling league brings a measure of peace. His legacy will live on through those who loved him more than words can express and through the stories that will continue to be told about the many ways he made the world a better place.

This may seem like a goodbye, but instead, we will leave you with one of his favorite words, Hello.
