Adele Salitan

Adele Salitan, née Wechsler, passed away on September 12, 2026, at the age of 92. Devoted mother of Michael (David Kulick), Laurie (Marc Kushner), James, and Diane (Michael Egleston). Cherished grandmother of Emily, Gabe, Ana, Nora, Molly, and Nate. Adoring great-grandmother of Oscar and Alice. Beloved aunt of Neil Wechsler. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Mark Salitan, her parents Eva and Nathan, and her brother Herbert.

Born in Brooklyn, Adele started her career as a young assistant at Coca-Cola and went on to attend Hunter College and Brooklyn College for graduate school. After successful careers in education, nonprofit administration, and real estate, she returned to teaching until she retired at age 90. She was energized by young people and touched the lives of countless students and all of her children’s friends.
